Cauliflower wings
Fresh cauliflower florets coated in a seasoned batter, then baked or fried until golden and crispy and finally tossed in your favorite wing sauce
Ingredients
- Ingredients:
- 1 head of cauliflower
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup water
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Oil for frying
- Your favorite wing sauce such as buffalo sauce or barbecue sauce
Instructions
Prepare the Cauliflower:
- Wash the cauliflower and cut it into bite-sized florets, similar in size to chicken wings.
Prepare the Batter:
- In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, water, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Stir until you have a smooth batter.
Coat and fry the Cauliflower:
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or a large pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Dip each cauliflower floret into the batter, ensuring it’s fully coated. Let any excess batter drip off before placing them in hot oil.
Toss with Sauce:
- Once the cauliflower is fried and crispy, drain the excess oil in a sieve and transfer them to a large mixing bowl. Add your favorite wing sauce and toss until the cauliflower is evenly coated.
Serve:
- Serve your cauliflower “wings” hot with celery sticks, carrot sticks, and your favorite dipping sauce, such as ranch or blue cheese dressing.
